Odanis Ventura

Odanis Ventura was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States at age 14. Odanis embarked on a journey that would lead him to become the Executive Chef at the Tavern in the Square. His journey began in 2008, when he took his first steps into the restaurant world, starting his career at popular establishments such as Applebee’s and Cheesecake Factory. He joined Tavern in the Square in 2019 and trained at the North Station and Allston locations. He then worked up to kitchen manager, managed the kitchen, and oversaw functions.

Continuing to pursue growth and excellence, Odanis shadowed the chef at the Burlington location. Recognizing his potential, the establishment offered him the position of head chef. In this role, he thrived managing higher volumes and multiple functions. The constant hustle and bustle fueled his passion, and he reveled in the opportunity to create memorable dining experiences for his guests. At Tavern in the Square, “We are your neighbors. This is your Tavern”

Odanis has embraced his role as head chef, realizing that it provides him with limitless opportunities for personal and professional growth. The Tavern in the Square has become his home, offering a supportive environment and ample prospects for advancement. His utmost desire is for guests to feel the same sense of belonging and warmth as he does when they visit the restaurant.

Outside of the kitchen, Odanis has always been into sports. His love for sports is reflected in his dedication to teamwork, precision, and delivering exceptional performances. This passion translates into his culinary creations, as he seeks to deliver an unforgettable dining experience for every guest.

Odanis’s favorite burger at Tavern in the Square is called the Picantè Burger. The juicy patty is topped with crispy bacon, pepper jack cheese, tomato jalapeno relish, and chipotle aioli. Odanis aims to create a burger that is both satisfying and delicious.
